Metal Detecting Information

Whether you're new to the hobby or are a seasoned detectorist, metal
detecting can provide you much more than just the opportunity to
discover lost and great treasures. Metal detecting gives you an
energetic lifestyle. It drives you out of the house and into nature.
It also brings with it the adventure of discovery. Who knows what you
will unearth? It could be an old coin, a army medallion that has long
outlived its usefulness, or even a musket ball. Plus, you'll be able
to travel to new locations and learn their history. And with the hobby
of metal detecting rising in popularity every year, you will be able to
meet new people and make good friends through your mutual interest in
metal detecting information.

When you're first begin with metal detecting, you might think that you
require the best metal detector in order to find greatest treasures.
But metal detectors are costly, and many new detectorists simply can
not afford to spend that much money. Plus, if you're just starting out
in the hobby, you might not want to spend the money to get the best.
Of course, having the deepest machine will give you an edge over other
hunters, but once you learn the ins and outs of metal detecting, the
machine itself won't make as much of a difference.

The beach is the best place to use your first metal detector. In the
beginning you you're going to need to dig up everything giving a signal
-- until you learn the different types of signals. Some metal
detectors are built with a discrimination function that helps you to
pass over unwanted things such as nails, foil, pulltabs, etc. But the
more you discriminate, the less penetration you're going to have. For
example, if you pass over all items that you suspect are pulltabs, you
might overlook nickels or small silver jewelry. So you have to be
really watchful with your controls. Also, when you're new to metal
detecting, don't start in an area that is really overloaded with
signals, because it will drive you crazy. Start out by practicing on a
field or a beach, or in your own backyard.

One very important rule when metal detecting is to respect others.
After digging up your treasure, cover your holes even on the beach.
People usually don't watch where they're running in places such as
this, and you don't want any walkers or joggers to twist their ankle. A
second metal detecting rule to live by is to always take the trash that
you dig up with you when you leave. When you get home and go through
your trash, you might come upon items that you thought were just junk
turns out to be incredible finds. Never trespass on someone else's
property. If the location that you want to go metal detecting is
private property, you have to get the owner's approval first. Do not
take the okay of a neighbor; make sure to speak directly to the person
who owns the land.

The zorgium specific results appear in the right hand margin.

Find other ZORGIUM pages using your favorite search engine:

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of http://bing.com, http://yahoo.com or http://google.com.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.

ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
